Anne Krebiehl MW, German-born but London-based, is a widely published freelance wine writer.
In 2023, she became editor for Germany, Alsace, Austria and Grower Champagne for Vinousmedia.com. In 2021, she launched Falstaff International and was its editor-in-chief until its merger with another title.
Prior to that she was contributing editor for Austria, Alsace, Burgundy and England for US Wine Enthusiast. She publishes widely, lectures on her specialisms (Pinot Noir, Riesling and traditional method sparkling wines), completed her WSET Diploma in 2010 and became a Master of Wine in 2014.
She has harvested and helped to make wine in New Zealand, Germany and Italy. Her first book, The Wines of Germany, published by Infinite Ideas, won the Domaine Faiveley International Wine Book Of The Year 2020 award at the Louis Roederer International Wine Writers’ Awards. In her own time, Anne loves to swim, garden and entertain.

Join IWSC 2024 Wine Communicator and Master of Wine, Anne Krebiehl, for an insightful sparkling wine masterclass focused on vintage-dated, mature metodo classico from Trento, Franciacorta, Alto Adige and Oltrepo Pavese.
At the IWSC’s annual awards ceremony in October 2023, Anne Krebiehl MW was announced as their new Wine Communicator for 2024, sponsored by Vinitaly, with previous winners including Sarah Heller MW, Madeline Puckette and Jancis Robinson MW.
One IWSC judge described Anne’s approach to wine communication: “Anne is a natural storyteller; there is a sensual kind of joy that comes across in her communications.” Judges also described Anne as a “real role model” within the industry.
