DISCOVER PIWI: Everything you wanted to know about PIWI and you never had the courage to ask.

Description

The Pizzolato Winery will present an in-depth masterclass on its wines from PIWI resistant vines addressing the issues of agricultural sustainability and the impact that these vines have on agriculture today. This will be followed by the tasting of the four PIWI wines of the Cellar and of a wine from the network of Nicola Biasi, oenologist of resistant vines.

2017 was a year of change for the Pizzolato winery, which decided to embark on the path of PIWI varieties. The vines resistant to fungal diseases allow for a reduction in treatments (from 2/4 per year) and are an innovative solution that allows the reduction of the environmental impact of production, in compliance with the sustainable viticulture that the Cellar pursues.

The project of La Cantina Pizzolato faced the world of PIWIs with two different approaches: on the one hand through the creation of a vineyard with many varieties allowed by the Veneto regulations, on the other with the identification, through the mono varietal planting of carefully selected PIWI vines, of the variety suitable for the terroir of the Piave area.

The Pizzolato Winery will present an in-depth masterclass on its wines from PIWI resistant vines addressing the issues of agricultural sustainability and the impact that these vines have on agriculture today. He will bring his experience in the field and will open, with the help of Filippo Bartolotta, oenological consultant and speaker of the event, a new and detailed discussion on PIWI wines. The debate will also see the intervention of Nicola Biasi, oenologist of wines from resistant vines, who will bring his story to the curious PIWI world. This will be followed by the tasting of the following four PIWI wines from the Cellar and a wine from the Nicola Biasi network:

CANTINA PIZZOLATO – White wine IGT Veneto “Huakai”

CANTINA PIZZOLATO – Fizzy white wine IGT Veneto col fondo “Hoopa”

CANTINA PIZZOLATO – Fizzy white wine IGT Veneto col fondo “Hurrà”

CANTINA PIZZOLATO – No added sulphites Red wine IGT Veneto “Konti-Ki”
