A unique mix of terroirs where very famous grape varieties are grown; yet these varieties also express themselves differently in other areas, yielding high quality wines with different aromatic and sensory facets. One example is Sangiovese, grown in the Chianti Classico and Val d'Orcia areas - two very different locations in terms of altitude, topography, climate and reputation but which nevertheless both produce great wines. This masterclass also offers the chance to get to know the emblematic wines of their homelands at first hand. These historically very important wines include: Franciacorta, which in a very short time has created a vocational terroir famous all over the world for it Classic method sparkling wines. Caluso, made from Erbaluce grapes, Freisa d'Asti from Freisa grapes, a closest relative of Nebbiolo, a Supertuscan from the Tuscan coast from an intelligent and stimulating blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and even Alicante Bouschet, a cross-bred variety obtained in the laboratory which has achieved great success along the Tuscan coast. Not forgetting Albarossa, developed by Giovanni Dalmasso in 1938 starting from Chatus and Barberaone - one of the most successful wine-growing cross-breeds ever and the basis for around twenty great wines produced all over Piedmont.
