The Mamojà Association was founded in 2015. It is a cultural association with seventy members representing an historically vocational suited for organic wine made with native red and white grape varieties - Cannonau and Granatza - typical of the province of Nuoro, in the central northern part of Sardinia. A lesser-known part of the region, but one which embodies the charm of those inland places that have remained true to themselves over the centuries and where wine enjoys a special social, cultural and religious value. Wine is inherent in the tradition of this land and is also helps instil respect for the environment, create jobs, drive the local economy, combat the depopulation affecting the hinterland areas of the island. The Association made efforts to encourage the development of the wine and wine tourism sector in the local area. Vinitaly 2023 is honoured to host several wine-makers belonging to the Association at MicroMegaWines. Ian D'Agata, a wine critic renowned all over the world, will guide the tasting of eleven Cannonau di Mamojà (Mamojada), the full-bodied wine from this challenging land refined by the passion for patient work of its producers.
